POMONA, Calif. – Prolong® Super Lubricants is now a major sponsor of the 2014 Lake Havasu Boat Show. For boaters across the southwestern United States the annual show, at Lake Havasu State Park in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. on April 11 – 13, is a must-attend event.

Prolong will be providing its Waterless Wash & Shine Spray, Super Protectant and SPL100® Super Penetrating Lubricant Spray to show participants. Additionally, Prolong Super Lubricant product award baskets will also be given to winners of the “Prolong Show and Shine” competition.

“There certainly is a great fit between the boat show, boat owners and Prolong products,” said Bob Brown, Lake Havasu Boat Show producer. “Prolong products have a number of benefits for boat owners and offer a resolution for some of the larger issues facing the boating industry.”

Prolong Products for Boaters
Prolong’s Waterless Wash & Shine delivers a beautiful boat wash in less than 15 minutes without the need for water, rinsing or drying. Simply spray the product on the surface and easily wipe away with a terry cloth towel, leaving a beautiful wax like shine and smoothness. The formula features special lubricating agents to encapsulate dirt, sap, tar and bugs that lift them off the surface so they can be removed with ease without scratching the surface.

Prolong’s Super Protectant is an advanced instant detailer that is safe for leather, rubber and vinyl surfaces that beautifies and protects it from cracking in hot or cold weather conditions. It is ideal for keeping interior boat upholstery looking new.

SPL100® Super Penetrating Lubricant Spray is available from Prolong and has a wide variety of uses, including corrosion prevention, freeing rusty parts and reducing friction on metal surfaces. Formulated with Prolong’s Anti-Friction Metal Treatment™ (AFMT) advanced technology, the product is designed to clean, lubricate and protect metal surfaces. SPL100 does not interfere with the flow of electricity making it ideal to keep battery terminals and other electrical connections from corroding.

Brown notes that most boat owners are very conscious about keeping their boats clean, shiny and protected, especially at Lake Havasu. “Because of the make-up of the water in this lake, boats can spot very quickly if owners don’t get right on it,” said Brown. “But today, there’s an even greater cleanliness emphasis because of the ‘Clean, Drain and Dry’ initiative.”

Clean, Drain and Dry Program
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife’s “Clean, Drain and Dry” program is designed to help boaters realize the importance of thoroughly cleaning, draining and drying their boats to prevent the spread of invasive species from one body of water to the next. “In Arizona, this program is now mandatory when boaters leave the water,” said Brown. “Both California and Arizona Agricultural Inspection areas are now checking boats to make sure they aren’t bringing zebra or quagga mussels with them. Inspectors check all boats thoroughly to make sure mussels are not being carried from one state to another and not infecting other lakes. These inspections are another reason boat maintenance and cleaning should be a top priority for boat owners.”
